Develop an operating model that allows autonomous teams to operate at speed and scale while producing high-quality outcomes.

 

Guiding principles

  1. Our work is prioritized and aligned to the company’s top priorities and we work tirelessly to enable our business partners by leveraging a “product” mindset.

  2. We embrace autonomous teams, but not to the point where we create silos.

  3. We keep our teams strategically aligned through shared outcomes and a focus on accountability.

  4. Maintain a “one IT” mindset: no matter who asks, we represent all of IT to our business partners.

  5. We embrace thoughtful process (without bureaucracy!) as a means to speed us up and run a well-oiled machine.

  6. We aim to position Atlassian IT as a referenceable, best-in-class, agile organization.

  7. Our global footprint and Team Anywhere policy will be a strength of our operating model.

  8. We “dogfood” Atlassian’s own products when we can. We custom engineer for differentiation when needed. We configure off-the-shelf products for the rest.

  9. We always ask if there is an opportunity to gain leverage for all of Atlassian through common capabilities, data, automation, and architecture

  10. We believe that teams with clear objectives and meaningful roles with career growth opportunities result in motivated teams.
